The 2020 Zero Plus Int'l Film Festival in Russia is to host an Iranian film lineup.

Various competition categories of the 2020 Zero Plus Int'l Festival of Films for Children and Youth (0+) in Russia is set to play host to an Iranian film lineup.

One of the competition categories of the 7th edition of the festival includes the “International Competition of Feature Films” which will be screening Keivan Majidi’s 84-min ‘The Blue Girl’ with a theme on family and sport.

“The children of a mountain village are very fond of playing football. However, there is no flat terrain for football in their village, so the kids make a lot of effort on top of the mountain to play soccer”, writes the event’s website.

Recently, ‘The Blue Girl’ was screened at the Visions du Réel International Film Festival in Switzerland and the 7th Brasilia International Film Festival (BIFF) in Brazil.

“International Competition of Short Live Action Films” is another section of the Russian festival which will be showing the 11-min ‘Rainbow’ by Mohammad Khalili.

One more screening category of the event which is hosting Iran includes “International Competition of Short Animated Films”, showing Mahin Javaherian’s 8-min film ‘Once Upon A Time’.

On highlighting the mission of the Zero Plus Film Festival, the event’s website says, “We aim to provide children, adolescents, families with an access to the films and cartoons worldwide, which are oriented to the human development.”

The event will take place in the Russian city of Tyumen on September 21-27, 2020.
